Beating the Winter Blues

When you live in the frozen tundra, you must make the most of winter.  This means the triple S threat of skiing, skating and sledding.  Throw in some ice fishing and you have a happy three year old and a couple of cold parents.

Here are some winter highlights from 2015:

Ashley's 80's bowling birthday with Sarah

Morning selfies

It is pretty

We are standing on solid ice Lake Michigan

Lake Michigan glacier

Fisher caught this Rock Bass fishing.  He promptly named him "Rock N Roll"

The Lake froze past the end of the pier, the glaciers were huge like prob 30-40'

At one point we could hardly get in our door, this is probably only 50" of the 110" we received

I took a trip to NYC why Jann watched the kids.  She took this picture of Gracie and the infamous Meijer pony.

Ice skating is maybe not our best sport

Fisher made a jungle in his playroom.  This is Sharpie marker, the other two walls are also covered in Sharpie marker.  As was his sister "Tiger Gracie" covered in black tiger stripes.  On her face.  Fun times.  I'm never showering again.

Gracie and I made the trip to Columbus to celebrate Granny's 85th birthday! We had a great time toasting her at dinner, and brunch.

Nick celebrated 35 with he help of two little people and a beautiful cake from Aunt Martha

Together with some other friends I hosted a shower in Chicago for my friend Katherine.  It was "nautical" in theme.

Brooke-o in town for the shower from St. Louis

Fishy skiing, or at least looking like he has the gear to ski.
this is what Gracie does why we ski- sleeps at the bottom of the hill in a stroller

Gracie enjoys bubbles at the Children's Museum

Sledding Fishy

We went to Great Wolf Lodge- 6 kids, 3 moms one giant room

This crew had a blast at the lodge, I think the moms did too

Winter was fun, but the Lardos are ready for Spring.  And by Spring I really mean summer.  Bring it on!

Snow Buddies

These two. . .Jameson and Fisher.

It has now been snowing for a week.  Yesterday we had a snow day and 10" of snow.  It is not even December.  Lake Michigan I love you, but can you freeze over all ready?  I can't handle much more of your lake effect snow.  Fisher on the other hand asks to play outside every second of every day.

First Snow

Our first snow brought 6" of heavy, wet white snow.  At this rate I will see the ground again in April.
