Spring Fun with Friends

No fancy Spring Break trip for this family, just lots of good old fashioned fun with friends and two trips to Chicago to celebrate Uncle John's Birthday, see Wewe & Papa and check in on Aunt Erica at Kellogg.

Quick trip to Milwaukee to meet baby Greta Gehl and see Missy for lunch

Swinging in the West Loop
Hammock fun at the Livingstons
Waking up to a wall of water never gets old
Our little street
We love Northwestern and Aunt Erica
Graham's plank form could use some work, but is impressive none the less. he is so close to crawling!
Gracie's last day of gymnastics in a ballerina outfit because in her world that makes absolute sense

Fisher was mostly impressed with Uncle's Nintendo skills this trip
Fisher can't get enough of his uncle, as John said Fisher is his "biggest fan"
A quick stop at the park on our way home to Grand Haven to visit Paul, Katherine and 1 year old Ann Suberlak
My family wears this crowd out
Planting with Wewe is always a highlight
Fisher sports Uncle's signature hat
Hello from the other side (of Lake Michigan, Fisher's favorite skyscrapers in background)
Obligatory 6 month check up selfie- only 16lbs.  Graham is still a small fry.
Ashley and I pretend it is Spring Break by drinking the calories we just burned at Boot Camp with margaritas
Playdate with Lila and Jameson at the mall

Fisher has quite the cha cha, I am so happy it's Spring I could dance too.  Although probably not as well as Porter and Fisher.  The best part of that video is they boys had no idea Ashley was filming them, so they danced like no one was watching.

Fisher Crafts

Fisher:  "Mom! We had free art day and we could make anything we wanted.  I made this.  Guess what it is."

Me:  It looks like the Sears Tower!

Fisher:  YES!  AND IT HAS WINGS!!!!
__________

Fisher has been obsessed with the Sears Tower (AKA the Willis Tower) ever since Nick took him to the observation deck on Christmas Day.  He talks about it all the time and asks to go there again roughly 4X a week.  He is fascinated by skyscrapers in general.

I complimented the teacher on the craft today at pick up. She gave me a blank stare- she clearly had no idea what the Sears Tower is, or maybe she is one of the three people in America who think of it as the Willis tower?  Maybe she didn't understand me, or Fisher's masterpiece blended in with the other 17 masterpieces in the class. To me it is special.   Even more so now, as I know he configured the signature stair step silhouette on his own from his memory of a special day with his dad.

The Captain!

We have taken to calling Graham "the captain".  Fisher and Gracie started referring to him as the captain during a game they play almost every day where  they surround his bouncer with chairs, pillows and blankets creating a make believe spaceship of which Graham is "the captain".  It has now crossed over from game to everyday life.  I think it is a fitting nickname for this guy that has his whole family falling over his every move.  We are happy to follow this captain wherever he goes.

Fisher on Girl Scout Cookies

Fisher(with lots of enthusiasm):  Mom, you have to try these cookies.  They are so good, I could eat the entire box!

Me:  I have tried them, and eaten the entire box.

Fisher discovers the Girl Scout cookie dilemma for the first time.
