The Baker
When you always bring dessert, soon your friend's children associate you with baked goods. There are definitely worse associations.
When Julianne mentioned that Isaac and Levi think "Jane always has cupcakes". I laughed, but then realized it was kinda true.
Well boys I didn't want to disappoint you for our Easter party so I made you an entire cake. Sometimes it's good to switch it up.

Spring (winter?) in Connecticut
We spent last week in Connecticut visiting Grandma Liz.
Liz and Fish shared many laughs. Mostly Gram thinks I have my hands full because he is "so busy". She's as smart as ever.

Cousin cuddle
Fisher met cousin Dylan for the first time this weekend. At 3.5 months his head is the same size as Fisher's at 16 months. He clearly is sheltering a very large brain.
We loved hanging out with him and can't wait to see how these two grow up together.
And Dylan next visit we'll teach Fisher that ear pulling is less than desirable behavior. I hope you have recovered.
P.S "I hope Fisher's feet aren't so big he has to be a clown"- Grandma Fisher

36 Hours in Chicago
SATURDAY
11:00
Nick and Fisher barricade the driveway. Their mission to make me stay in Grand Haven fails.
1:15
Meet Donielle and Katie in the Gold Coast for a goodbye lunch at Big Bowl. Katie and Brent move to South Carolina this week. I finally move within 500 miles of her and she moves away! I am sad to see her go, but happy she's finally moving to the Southeast- her life long dream. The three of us have been lunching together for 15+ years.
3:00
Meet Katherine for mani/pedis and a little shopping in her west loop neighborhood.
5:30
Take a taxi from Katherine's apartment to The Wit Hotel, begin bachelorette festivities for Sarah, my first Grand Haven friend.
8:30
Dinner at Mercadito. Delicious. Loud. Possibly too cool for me. Definitely too cool for me.
11:00
Get in a fight with a 22 year old outside a club. She pushes me as I walk by her standing in line. Seriously. At age 22 it's permissible to wait in line for a club, at age 30 it's not. Our group simply enforced this common law rule (plus we had a reservation). I forgive her for being young and naive. But point out the "crazy lady" who shoved the pregnant lady to the bouncer. And with that move I win the fight without a push. I hope she enjoyed the rest of her night elsewhere . . . the nice doorman forcibly removed her from the line.
11:30
Remember that bars/clubs make pregnant Jane super claustrophobic, where are the exits? Try and make mine from the party gracefully. I am the first to leave.
SUNDAY
12:00AM
Asleep at my parents house.
10:30
WAKE UP. The latest I have slept since Fisher was born. Heaven.
3:00
Eat at Culver's in Michigan City. Remind myself that I am trying NOT to gain 60 pounds this pregnancy. Don't care and order the cheese curds.
6:00
Arrive home to this guy. Super happy to be home. Sometimes you need 36 hours away.

Aunt Kathy Visits
Aunt Kathy visited from Madison, WI today. Her first meeting ever with little Fish! He was on his best behavior for the occasion. Can't you tell from the below photos?
Little man felt a jacket unnecessary in 28 degree weather. I felt the need to wrap him in my scarf. He pretty much thought that was the worst thing to ever happen to him. I thought he looked chic.
Sorry Kathy. I promise he's always happy. This is unusual, he must be teething. I swear. Said every mom always when their kid grumps up a joint.

Sad Blog, Happy Argentina Pics
2013 is clearly not the year for the blog. Between feeling less than 100%, co-hosting a shower, buying a house and recent trips to Atlanta, Chicago, Petoskey and NYC. I'm behind. In everything.
In an effort to not be so behind, here are some photos from our January trip to Argentina, not labeled because that would be way too much effort. Hoping to highlight a few favorite moments of the trip in later posts this week.
Until then you're stuck with a link:

I promise back to regular blogging soon.
